THE CHALLENGE

Our construction client needed to reduce their CO2 emissions and fuel costs by running their site cabin set-up on battery power for as long as possible, without compromising on performance. This consisted of 2 offices, 2 drying rooms, 2 canteens, and a toilets block, in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

THE SOLUTION

Our team assessed our client’s on-site power demands before recommending an optimised solution that was appropriate for the application. Alongside a 100kVA generator, we proposed our Hussh Pod 45/90 – 90kWh of useable energy storage with 45kVA three-phase inverters.

THE RESULTS

The integration of the Hussh Pod into our client’s power set up reduced generator run time over the hire period by 529 hours, saving the client £9,135 in fuel costs and reducing CO2 emissions by 16,078kg.

Over the month period, the site in South Lanarkshire ran 74% on battery, leaving only 26% on the generator.

As part of the Power Saving Solutions service, reporting is sent to our client to demonstrate performance, savings and return on investment.

Statistics based on a comparison of using a sole traditional 100kVA diesel generator, at a cost of £1.50/L at 11.5L per hour.
