Site Overview

Power Saving Solutions cross hired a Hussh Pod 30/45 with our client ABird/HSS to work alongside one of ABirds 60kVA diesel generator at a Ground construction site in Peckham.

The aim of this site set up was for the Hussh Pod to supply cabins with silent battery power during the night-time between 6:30pm to 6:30am and a diesel generator to supply the site with power during the day whilst re-charging the Hussh Pod’s batteries.

Innovation and Sustainability

The aim of this set up is to provide silent supply of power overnight, during the day the sites power is provided from the diesel generator due to this being the highest load points. The Hussh Pod would supply power during the night-time hours to equipment such as drying room heaters, lighting and fridges in the canteen. This set up led to a 56% reduction in the amount of fuel being used and co2 emissions caused by the generator.

The site has now been operational since the 3rd of November 2021 (three months) and has operated on Hussh Pod battery power for 56% of the time available, and the generator running for the remaining 44%.

This has resulted in an approximate *6,595 litres of fuel being saved at a value of *£9,893 and a reduction of nearly *32,294kg of CO2 compared to when running solely on a diesel generator.
